How University Speech Therapy Clinics work

Speech therapists get practical experience during college by treating patients in a University clinic. These students are trained and supervised by experienced speech pathologists. Often there is one supervisor for every student.  There is usually a small fee for such therapy, but it is far less expensive than paying for speech therapy out of pocket.

Member vs. Non-member Clinics

The list is divided into those that are members (and those that are not) of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders. As far as we know there is little practical difference in the quality of care a patient will receive at either type of clinic.
