This semi-annual conference offers the expertise of leaders in the fields of aphasia presenting the latest perspectives on management, programs, and coping strategies through presentations and hands-on demonstrations. The conference offers a unique integration of views from professionals and people living with aphasia.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, offer two full days of keynote presentations and breakout sessions such as:

• ADVOCATING for Yourself and Those You Care About, Brain Regeneration
• A CONSUMER’S GUIDE to Computer Hardware and Software
• Functional NEURO-IMAGING AND APHASIA: Recovery Patterns
• Music and Art Therapy
• The Importance of APHASIA SUPPORT GROUPS
• COMMUNICATING in Daily Situations
• Where Do We Go From Here in APHASIA THERAPY?

Panel discussions on both days include:

HUMOR: The Lord's Army

A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"

My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."

Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."
